Works just as well as the brand name product. I use this often during allergy season, but only at night. This drug can make you very sleepy. I also use this product to help me rest when I have mosquito or other bug bites. It reduces itching and helps you sleep. This is the "sleep" ingredient in Tylenol PM. My vet prescribed half a pill for my dog when he was particularly itchy during the summer (evidently due to allergies). I used to use "snake oil" for all these ailments, but now I just use Diphenhydramine HCI. You really should have this stuff in your medicine cabinet.
