REVIEWS OF PREVIOUS EDITION:
"The chapter headings are well chosen and the order flows naturally throughout the subject matter. The diagrams are well executed and color has been cleverly used to enhance their clarity. Using the CD-ROM is a great pleasure. The student can see diagrams being built up, stage by stage, rather than looking at one complex diagram and wondering how it came about. On its own the book is excellent, but with the CD-ROM it represents a very powerful learning tool, both for students and those seeking continuing education and training."
- Optician, June 4 1999
"Practitioners, manufacturers and ancillary staff will find this book to be valuable as an introduction to ophthalmic lenses and related production processes. The CD-ROM which is included provides a pleasant and step-by-step extension, using the host of clear diagrams in the text."
- Optical World, August 1999
"Based on an interesting series of short papers in The Optician newspaper, this is one of the absolutely essential texts for the present and several future generations of students of the subject. The diagrams are clear, the text is undaunting, and details tend to concentrate on practical issues."

Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism
Mo Jalie has an excellent reputation in the optical industry. I found this book to be very useful. The only drawback being its use of calculus to explain optical phenomenon. Although not necessarily a drawback, it limits the amount of students who can fully appreciate this tome. It still tackles a wide variety of topics.
