Hello all.
I bought this in November of 2009 and use it almost every night. I had previously bought one in the $55 range, but that was just a waste of money. it was a boil-in-the-pot types, and as I said, a waste of money.
I then tried again, because my snoring was keeping others from sleeping, sometimes even rooms away. Even though this one was 3 times the cost, it was worth every bit. My snoring hasn't 'stopped', but has significantly subsided. My wife says I'm quiet enough that she can sleep through the night, and she is a very light sleeper. She says that every once in a while I have a loud night, but they are few and far between. She thinks this was an awesome purchase, and so do I.
It took a several weeks total -- first I received a tray and a two-part putty. I took the impression of my bottom teeth, and then mailed it back. It took me two times because when I inserted the tray into my mouth, it went right up against my teeth, which the instructions say don't do. They sent me 2 tries of the putty in the first mailing -- if I needed a third, then that would be a new mailing and also there would be an additional charge to send it. I suggest having someone help. You'd think you can do it easily, but looking in the mirror and trying to figure out the space from your teeth to the back of the tray is just a bit more difficult than you'd think. Then, as I remember, it took a couple more weeks to get back from the lab.
After a year of constant use, it's still in fine condition. I thought I'd have to replace it yearly or so, but not so after a year. Also, a nice thing is that you can actually talk -- albeit a bit goofily -- with this in your mouth. You can also drink from a glass without removing it -- if done slowly and carefully.
