Not worth the money. Starts out with basic information that can already be obtained via the internet. As the book goes on it is not for the average layman. As an R.N. I understood the genetics part but felt I was back in college studying A&P. The newly diagnosed person is not interested in all the statistical and scientific information that saturates this book. The content of this book will not be understood by most of the general population because of its' medical content yet the section on medical terms lists definitions for phrases such as "emergency department" and "extended family". If people don't understand those terms they certainly won't understand the rest of the book.
