After two years in Alaska bush with no dental care I had a problem tooth with major bone loss. The worst kind of perio problem. It was pull it or hope the perio infection wouldn't flare again. Since the dentist, including specialists, offered no option other than pulling the tooth, I did research on alternative health care sites. I found a list of herbal items that would help. I started shopping for everything on the list planning to make my own concoction.
Then I found Dr. Katz's periotherapy and guess what? Everything on the list was in it. A year later my tooth has had no more infection. The most recent dental x-rays actually showed improvement. I can't explain that since supposedly the hole shouldn't be filling in but it did a bit.
Anyway, it's cheaper than the alternative (bridges or whatever) and I can say it is doing the job well.
(As an aside, Alaska is a wonderful, magnificent place to live despite the lack of dentists. If you get a chance, go. The dark of the winter is offset by the 24 hours of sunlight in the summer. And the scenery. Incredible.)
