Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism
This little gadget works just like promised. Very handy and you don't have to handle a dirty bottle to get to your gel. The plastic case is housing for the refill cartridges. The cartridges work by placing your fingers underneath the front and squeezing the cartridge against the front of the unit. The cartridges have a little (plastic/rubber?) membrane with a tiny slit that expels the gel when pressed. I haven't had any trouble with leakage, even leaving it in a hot car. As for the refills, they are pricey and the cartridges are "not refillable". It's easy to go through a cartridge in a couple of days. However, if you have access to a large (20cc or so) syringe and an 18 gauge needle, you can refill them with ease. Just fill the syringe with gel from the plunger end. Then put a little pressure on the cartridge so you can see the opening in the membrane and gently insert the needle. Then fill. Takes about 30 seconds. The cartridge holds about 40ccs. I've done it four times now without damaging the membrane. I figure if I get 5 or 6 refills out of each cartridge it is still economical. Hope this idea helps. This really is a handy device. I keep one clipped on the outside of my handbag and one clip in a handy place in the car.
