The "master volume" setting works the TV, DVD, and other untis --Except the VCR. I confirmed this in the owners manual. Have not called tech support to see if there is a work around. The play, reverse, and fast forward buttons are not logically placed. However, this unit appears to be the best easy to read, illuminated remote available today based on my internet searches.
