Bliss & Blisters: The Diary of a Blessed Widow by Noma Welch

Why would anyone begin writing a book in the September of their life; especially if that person had only one year of college, no journalism training, and doesn't even own a dictionary? Noma Welch was born and raised in the Deep South. She grew up in the 50's/60's in a home that was very safe and stable; not one of great wealth, but one of abundant love. At 18 years old she married into another special family, and began another remarkable journey. Her desire to share some of her happy memories with her children prompted her to begin writing her story. It was a slow process, and she dealt with more than a few interruptions during the course. She never imagined the turn of events that would forever change her life and the outcome of her book. A tragic accident turned her memoirs into a diary of distress. With the help of a Great God, she muddles her way through the darkness and back into the sunlight, or should I say His Son-light. Noma has always had a special wit and talent for writing. It was always easier for her to express herself with written words. What she lacks in impressive credentials, she makes up for with enthusiasm and passion. Noma lives in North Georgia. Her family and friends can enjoy the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains from her front porch. She lives near her two daughters and five grandchildren, who continue to fill her life with "Bliss." She is a very active Christian and serves Murray County Baptist Association as WMU Director. She enjoys traveling and loves shopping with her sister.

This was a great book. I could not put it down. This family went through so much. Both good times and bad times. God never left them and they never left God. It shows they truly have God in thier life and they are stonger for it. They will get to see their, Husband, Father, Son, Brother again one day because of their faith. I highly reccomend this book. It will make you laugh and it will make you cry. True Story of one family's life.
