First, let me start this by countering the reviewer that claimed this is somehow a toxic or unsafe product. This product does include Glucomannan. Glucomannan is just a natural soluble fiber from a plant. It is not absorbed into the body. It passes out the rectum along with the wastes. It is never absorbed into the body, so it's nearly impossible for it to cause any major illness. Many other fiber supplements use a cheaper source of fiber, but Glucomannan is superior to these in the way it works. However, Glucomannan works simularly. That is, it absorbs water, creating bulk in our digestive system which is easier for your colon to push out of the body. That's fiber basics. There's no magic or mystery about it. The only way one can get into trouble is by not drinking enough water. This is true of any type of fiber. It clearly says to take 8oz of water or more with this product. I do a whole bottle of water with my two tablets per day, and this product makes me very happy. Now, for my personal story. I am a long time sufferer of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) With Constipation, IBS-C. I've been to many doctors, including 5 specialists. I've gone through every test and procedure including two colonoscopies. They couldn't "see" anything wrong, so they came to the conclusion that I just had IBS-C. I've tried every prescription laxative out there. Nothing made it comfortable to go. Some made out of control bathroom habits and others seemed to do nothing or make it worse. Unlike many laxatives, this product is non habit forming. You can't be addicted to it. Many laxatives start to stop working when you take often, resulting in higher and higher doses to become effective. This product is not a stimulant. It just uses natural fiber, so your body cannot become used to it.
