I have mild interstitial cystitis, and I've had a lot of success in managing my IC with prelief. I generally only take it with acidic food or when I feel that symptoms might occur. I take it a lot during flares, which takes the edge off the symptoms. It's not a cure-all, and it won't necessarily allow people to eat all the acidic foods they want. For example, I will not drink a latte even if I take prelief, because I'm very sensitive to coffee. However, I can drink juice or tea, or even beer without problems. Prelief helps me with my symptoms, and it also acts as a calcium supplement. Win-win for me. I know that some people have problems with digesting the calcium, especially on an empty stomach. I would advise people to go slow when starting to take these, and definitely do not use this as an excuse to start eating all those bad acidic foods.
